2008 marks a centenary of publishing on the Rider list.
Founded in 1908, Rider has been responsible for publishing books by some of the most authoritative writers, thinkers and spiritual leaders of the last century. Under the umbrella of providing ‘New Ideas for New Ways of Living’, its list has continuously evolved to reflect the ways we all search for meaning and inspiration in life.
From early classics including Paul Brunton’s A Search in Secret India to T Suzuki’s An Introduction to Zen Buddhism through to landmark publications including The Road Less Travelled and Deepak Chopra’s How To Know God, Rider has always addressed the ways in which we look at ourselves and the world around us. Over the last decade this means we have developed an increasingly international and current-affairs-led focus and now boast a stunning array of authors including Nobel Peace Prize winners Shirin Ebadi and Desmond Tutu; Booker-Prize winner Ben Okri; Indian commentator Sir Mark Tully; psychiatrist Viktor Frankl; psychologist Professor Philip Zimbardo and fair-trade campaigner Harriet Lamb.
To celebrate our centenary we have reissued six of Rider’s classic titles with a new look.
We feel that each of them reflects Rider’s prestigious heritage and continued timeliness and whether you are reading them for the first time or returning to them we hope that they find you well and help you on your journey through life.
With every good wish
