BRIAN JACQUES

was born and bred in Liverpool. At the age of fifteen he went to sea and travelled the world before returning to Liverpool where he began a career in the creative arts, including working as a professional folk singer and a playwright. He has won many awards for his wonderful books about the mice of Redwall Abbey which are popular with readers from all around the world. He still lives in Liverpool, where he writes his books and presents his own programme on Radio Merseyside.
