The BBC announce the Top 100 titles as voted for by you in THE THE BIG READ on Saturday 17th May. For more information on how you can get involved CLICK HERE

As you may already be aware, 2003 is the year of the BBC'S biggest ever celebration of books. The Big Read is a major BBC project spanning television, radio, online and interactive services in its quest to find Britain's best-loved book.

In addition to all the Big Read programming this year, the BBC is also working with LearnDirect to create the biggest ever UK-wide, searchable database of book related activities. Our ambition is that anyone who wants to, will be able to join a local reading group, find out about book events in their area, or sign up for a literature or creative writing course by calling the BBC Big Read actionline on 08000 150 950 or by logging on to the Big Read website.

We are particularly keen to include as many reading groups as possible and for this we need your help. If you run a reading group, would welcome new members and would like to be included on the database please tell us by completing the attached form.

If you aren't currently involved in a reading group, how about setting up a new one? Visit the Big Read website for some great advice about how to get started. If you do start up a group don't forget to tell us about it by completing this form:

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
