I wrote a round-robin email requesting help on a project, but no-one replied.
I’ll send it again, stressing the urgency and the value of their contribution.
How embarrassing – I won’t do that again.
Don’t know why I bothered – they’re all incapable of anything creative.
They’re probably all exchanging round-robin emails about me now.

My taxi got stuck in traffic and I missed my train.
It’s the taxi driver’s fault for not knowing a short cut.
My fault – I should have remembered about the road works.
Why does this always happen to me? I’m useless.
I’ll call and explain and make sure I leave earlier next time.

That person was really nice to me for no reason.
They probably think I’m a weirdo really.
What a weirdo.
What a nice person.
They must fancy me.

An idea I came up with in a meeting was instantly dismissed.
I’ll think before I speak next time.
They wouldn’t know a good idea if it smacked them in the face.
Why do I keep making mistakes?
How humiliating – I’ll never speak up in a meeting again.

I’ve lost my keys again.
I must put up a key hook right now.
It’s okay, I bet my housemate has got his keys.
Today is going to be a bad day, I can tell.
I’m always losing everything.

I had a cigarette last night even though I’m trying to quit.
It’s just too hard to quit.
I must tell all my friends not to let me smoke even when I want to.
I’m pathetic.
Why did my friends let me smoke when they know I’m trying to quit?

I’d like to get a pay rise this year.
I hope they don’t sack me.
If I don’t get one, I’ll quit.
I bet I don’t get one.
I’m going to ask the boss what I need to do to get one.

I got turned down for a bank loan.
The other bank will probably give me double anyway.
I’ll never have any money!
I’ll improve my application and try again.
I knew they’d turn me down.

I’d like to ask a friend at work out on a date.
I’ll ask them what kinds of things they’re interested in.
What if they say no?
I hope it doesn’t make everyone else jealous.
As if they’d want to go out with me!

I’d like to do some more exercise.
It’s not my fault I am big-boned and have a slow metabolism.
But I’m far too embarrassed to exercise in public.
I wonder if my friend would come running with me.
I’ve tried going to the gym before and it never works
