Hello everyone.
This is now the Fifth Newsletter we have issued. Welcome to friends both old and new. If you have not seen these Newsletters before and would like to go on the Mailing List, please send you name and address to: jwheatley@randomhouse.co.uk
It has been a desperately busy year for me, acting as Chair of the Crimewriters' Association. There were times when I began to doubt that there would ever be a new book. Luckily Random House were exceptionally supportive and patient, and by the skin of our teeth we are able to bring you The Accusers, which is number 15 in the Falco series. I am beginning to lose track of the numbers myself. It hardly seems any time since I wrote The Silver Pigs, with feeble hopes that some kindpublisher might like it and might let me do afew more...
Inside you will find the usual articles - a piece from me about what was special in writing this particular book,- an interview with one of the characters; and the 'team special' this time is from Jo Wheatley of Random House, who is involved on the marketing side. One of her other jobs is nagging me to write my contributions, so she can produce this Newsletter!
Those who remember Issue 4 may like to know that Cassie Chadderton, my publicist, gave birth safely to baby Leah, without needing me to apply my knowledge of Roman midwifery. Cassie is moving on promotion shortly, but will first organise one more signing tour for me, details of which are included here.
So, on with The Accusers; I do hope you like it.
