What the critics say

Beautiful to look at: big-size type, art-filled (glossy) pages, with comedy and class...satisfyingly special.
- The Independent

Perfect for sharing.
- Carousel

The Ross-view of nursery lore combines wit, style and a dazzling use of line and colour with a wild comedy.
- Observer

The illustrations combine Ross's customary lively, humorous images with historical detail. This is an enormously valuable and entertaining too to help families and schools keep alive a tradition that is under constant danger of vanishing from popular knowledge.
