On my thirteenth birthday, my life changed for ever. That's when I learned the shocking truth: I'm a half-vampire. Think that sounds cool? Think again! I've been attacked by an evil vampire bat, had huge cravings for my best friend's blood, and nearly died from eating a pizza (half-vampires aren't great with garlic). Writing my secret blog is the only thing that's kept me from going completely crazy. As if life couldn't get any more complicated, there have been some vicious attacks in the local woods. Vampire-mad Tallulah (definitely not my girlfriend) thinks a super-vampire is behind them - and she's desperate to prove it, with a mysterious chain that's supposed to glow red-hot when a vampire is close by. And I have a horrible feeling that the chain's going to turn red-hot any day now . . .
A new novel from award-winning author Pete Johnson that taps into the very current interest in vampires - done with Pete's humorous, accessible touch.

It's a light-hearted, quick-paced read that is perfect for teens and tweens, but that I even enjoyed myself as a grown-up! It's a great mixture of excitement, humour and slightly scary bits but nothing at all that will give younger readers nightmares - Mad House Family Reviews
The structure . . . allows for both rapid page turning to find out what happens next, as well as making it very easy to put down and come back to later. . . . As with many of Pete's other books, the stand out element of his writing is the humour - Book Zone for Boys
Nicely woven into this adventure story is an excellent treatment of the interaction between boys and girls during their formative years - Bookbitz
The Vampire Hunters is another fantastically written book by Pete Johnson. Packed full of adventure, laughs, intriguing characters and a little bit of blood, this is a must read! - Scribbler
Pete Johnson's signature sense of humour is back in force in this book. . . . I cannot recommend The Vampire Hunters enough. It is a an absolute delight to read, and it ticks all the right boxes for its targeted audience: exciting, funny, a bit scary, current - Library Mice
Enough twists and turns to make the story unpredictable and compelling - Book Angel Booktopia
Witty and funny and exciting, just like the first book. Marcus made a great narrator again . . . It was really intriguing and I think many kids would be hooked on this series of books - Readaraptor
Absolutely unputdownable. I raced through it, it was so addictive and I enjoyed every minute of it. I didn't want it to end! I can't recommend this series enough! Read it, then give it to any child you know . . . and then let me know, did YOU guess the ending, or am I the only idiot who didn't?! - Bookster Reviews
PETE JOHNSON began work as a film critic for Radio One, then became a teacher. His experiences in the classroom led to his beginning to write and he still keeps contact with a panel of young readers to gain the viewpoint of the actual reader as he writes new titles. He is the author of several titles for the Corgi Yearling list.
