	A note from the author, Elizabeth Singer Hunt Several years ago, I had an idea to create a series for children based on the adventures of a nine-year-old secret agent boy named Jack Stalwart. The idea would marry my interest in educating children about the world around them, with a desire to empower younger readers who were finding reading 'difficult' or 'boring'. Jack would in a sense become a 'vehicle' for global learning and adventure in literary form. Since the release of the series last year, I've received so many letters from parents, teachers, librarians and children too, telling me how much they've enjoyed reading about Jack's adventures and in many cases, rediscovering the joy of books.
