Manda Scott began writing while still a horse vet in Newmarket, with the result that horses feature prominently in her novels.
Her first novel, a contemporary crime thriller, Hen's Teeth was shortlisted for the Orange Prize. Then, having served her writing apprenticeship, she went back in time to write the bestselling Boudica series. Her new novels are set in Rome in the first century AD, and feature the assassin and spy, Sebastos Pantera.
