Random House New Zealand

Random House New Zealand publishes major lists within the areas of fiction, art and design, architecture, food, social and natural history, biography, and business.

Random House New Zealand have a distribution centre in Glenfield on Auckland’s North Shore, from which other publishers’ books are also distributed.

Random House New Zealand has been voted Publisher of the Year and Distributor of the Year by the book trade for several years in a row.

In addition to our high-profile international titles, Random House New Zealand has a very active, award-winning local publishing division which publishes around 110 titles a year.

Random House India

Random House India started its operations in April 2005 and their acclaimed writers include Rujuta Diwekar, Anita Desai, Namita Devidayal, Mohammed Hanif, Jhumpa Lahiri, Manju Kapur, Daniyal Mueenuddin and Basharat Peer.

Random House Struik (Pty) Ltd (South Africa)

In August 2008 Random House South Africa and Struik Publishers announced their merger to create a significant new player in the African book publishing industry. The new company, known as Random House Struik (Pty) Ltd, brought together two of the country's most prominent book publishers.

Random House Struik (Pty) Ltd's local publishing, which promotes books written in both English and Afrikaans, is underpinned by Struik's 47–year heritage, publishing mainly non–fiction African titles under the Struik Lifestyle, Struik Nature, Struik Travel & Heritage, Zebra Press and Fernwood Press imprints. Random House SA's local imprint Umuzi, established five years ago to mark the company's 40th anniversary in South Africa, continues to publish new voices in both fiction and non-fiction.

Struik's previous bestselling local titles include In Black and White: The Jake White Story by Jake White (Zebra Press) which sold over 200,000 copies in 2007. Umuzi's bestselling title to date is Dark Continent my Black Arse by Sihle Khumalo, closely followed by Odyssey to Freedom by George Bizos and a number of titles by popular author Antjie Krog.
